Basic Hunter-Trapper Education

Hunter Safety Course scheduled for June 27, 2020, is cancelled. In an effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19 the PA Game Commission has cancelled all in-person Hunter-Trapper Education Classes through June 30, 2020. No new date has been set at this time.

Otherwise known simply as the Hunters Safety Course, a basic hunter-trapper education course is required, by law, for all first-time hunters and trappers, regardless of age. You must successfully complete Hunter-Trapper Education training before you can buy a Pennsylvania hunting or trapping license. A training certificate, which is recognized throughout North America, is awarded when you pass a test at the end of the course. You must be at least 11 years old to enroll in a class. The training is designed to produce safe, responsible, knowledgeable and involved participants.

Once a year Burnt Ridge Bow & Gun Club holds a Hunters Safety Course at our location. This year's class will be held on Saturday June 27, 2020 from 8:00am-3:00pm.

PLEASE NOTE: You must register on the PA Game Commission website and complete the online course before attending the class
